National Faith Development Consultant
Basic Purpose:
To provide leadership and vision in the faith formation of young adults and to develop and implement strategies for the faith formation of young adults, with special responsibility for national events (for example, National Christian Youth Convention - (NCYC); About FACE; and the Order of St Stephen).
Major Responsibilities:
• Resource the oversight of national events on behalf of the Uniting Church Assembly (e.g. The National Christian Youth Convention (NCYC), About FACE and the Order of St Stephen).
• Resource the National Youth Activities Reference Committee (NYARC) as it thinks strategically and theologically about ways in which the Assembly can cooperate with Synods, Assembly Agencies, partner churches and international ecumenical groups in the faith formation of young adults.
• Resource the NYARC as it recommends revises and publishes requirements and guidelines for national youth activities to the Assembly Standing Committee (ASC).
• Advise the President and the General Secretary on the development and recommendation of policies related to the faith formation of young adults.
General Responsibilities:
• Leadership, management and administration to the About FACE project.
• Resource the NYARC as it reviews guidelines and conditions of service for the Order of St Stephen; the NCYC Manual and arrangements for NCYC and About FACE.
• Resource the NYARC as it provides a forum in which Synods and the Assembly can discuss and create initiatives that will provide significant faith education and discipleship formation opportunities for young adults aged 16 years and over.
• Work as a member of a multidisciplinary staff team in relating to other agencies and councils across the National Assembly.
