Tertiary students 2009 accommodation (Brisbane)

Tertiary students are encouraged to make links with Christian groups on campus, as well as be agents of peace, hope and reconciliation generally with other students on campus. Some examples are:

OASIS: Faith, Spirit, Community (Flinders University, SA)

"Oasis is a centre for faith development and spiritual refreshment, providing a forum and home environment for the development of genuine community". Oasis is at least three things: a space for groups and individuals to offer their activities, a base for the chaplains and their associates to offer pastoral care, and a community, built on the Oasis Committee, that serves the University.

During the three week 2008 Ignite Orientation Festival Oasis offered a series of activities to acquaint students with the centre. In the last week of February students walked a specially constructed Labyrinth laid out in the Common Room. (This was so successful, it was set up as an Easter Walk for students on Maundy Thursday). Photos at the oasis website. The first week of semester had "Reflections", a number of interactive installations for students to reflect on their University experience. The second week of semester had a "Cosmic Walk", another meditative experience, which enabled students to sense the awesomeness of time, space and creativity of the University, and to enable students to gain insight into the big picture of life.

Geoff Boyce is the UCA Chaplain on campus.
